Hamilton domineert doorregende tweede training + TIJDEN

MELBOURNE – Lewis Hamilton heeft vanochtend de snelste tijd genoteerd in de tweede vrije training voor de Grand Prix van Australië. Jenson Button, eveneens uitkomend voor McLaren, eindigde de sessie als tweede op bijna drie tienden van een seconde achterstand. Thuisrijder Mark Webber plaatste zijn Red Bull F1-bolide op de derde plaats in de tabellen.
Slechts eenentwintig coureurs wisten een tijd te noteren in de door regen geteisterde sessie. Beide HRT-coureurs kenden technische problemen en konden, in navolging van de seizoensopener in Bahrein, wederom nauwelijks kilometers maken. Ook de auto’s van Virgin Racing bleven nagenoeg de gehele tweede training binnen.
Renault-coureur Robert Kubica noteerde de snelste tijd in de eerste vrije training, die tot tweemaal toe onderbroken werd door een code rood.
