De Formule 1 is voor de eerste keer in Azerbeidzjan is om in de hoofdstad Bakoe de Grand Prix van Europa te rijden. Ook racet de GP2 Series in het support programma. Dit weekend staat alweer de achtste Grand Prix in het seizoen F1 2016 op het menu.
